چکیده

The estuary delta is an area where human economic activities are active and natural ecological environment fragile. With global change the intensification of activities, coastal seabed erosion around world becoming more serious. In this paper, we used Delft 3D numerical simulation to compare hydrodynamic effects sediment transport paths in Yellow River (river-controlled type), Yangtze (tidal type) Mekong wave East Asian monsoon area, analyzed causes accumulation landform distribution three different types subaqueous deltas. This study finds Delta has experienced varying degrees at estuary, but its still dominated by deposition; ensured stability shoreline under influence artificial reinforcement, (water depth: 0–15 m) a state all year round; occurs both delta. Additionally, only analyzing deposition within range resuspended sediment, changes properties entire could be recognized. research results can not helpful analyze whether river will lead type influence, also provide powerful scientific support for protection environment, geological safety disaster prevention.

Distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sediments from Yellow River Estuary and Yangtze River Estuary, China.

Surface sediment samples collected from twenty-one sites of Yellow River Estuary and Yangtze River Estuary were determined for sixteen priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by isotope dilution GC-MS method. The total PAH contents varied from 10.8 to 252 ng/g in Yellow River Estuary sediment, and from 84.6 to 620 ng/g in Yangtze River Estuary sediment. The mean total PAH content of Ya...

Perceptions, data, and river management: Lessons from the Mekong River

[1] Workshops to identify transboundary and basin-wide environmental issues and a diagnostic study by consultants identified priority environmental concerns of resource managers in the lower Mekong River basin. The issues identified, in priority order, were water quality, reduction in dry season flows, sedimentation, fisheries decline, wetland degradation, and flooding. An analysis of the avail...

Testing morphodynamic controls on the location and frequency of river avulsions on fans versus deltas: Huanghe (Yellow River), China

A mechanistic understanding of river avulsion location and frequency is needed to predict the growth of alluvial fans and deltas. The Huanghe, China, provides a rare opportunity to test emerging theories because its high sediment load produces regular avulsions at two distinct nodes. Where the river debouches from the Loess Plateau, avulsions occur at an abrupt decrease in bed slope and reoccur...
